Linux on the iPhone!

planetbeing has announced in the Linux on the iPhone blog that the Linux 2.6 kernel has been ported to Apple's iPhone platform, with support for the first and second gen iPhones as well as the first gen iPod touch.

While there are still many drivers are missing, the port is enough as a real alternative operating system running on the iPhone.
